[It was a big day for the Mochizuki residence! Kaido had reached his first evolution, much to the excitement of Atsuro and Mari. It was only natural that they insist on celebrating, and even without Kaido's request the way to do so would have been obvious.

The all-too-rare scent of cooking meat wafts throughout the rooms. It certainly hadn't been cheap, but she'd managed to get enough for the three of them without digging too far into her savings. Her Golbat hovers over her shoulder while she prepares it, questioning why she'd ruin perfectly good raw meat like this.]

Humans eat it differently than you do, that's all. [He gives a doubtful little shriek, but accepts it enough to settle down next to her to oversee the proceedings. It would be done soon, she thought. Good! She looked over her shoulder for Atsuro.] Atsuro, have you called Tadashi yet?

I was on my way, give me a couple minutes.

Good, that should be enough time to get everything finished up. [She turned off the stove, satisfied with how the cooking had come out. All that was left was just the plates and table settings.]

[He'll go get the plates and other tableware. He speaks up again as he's setting it down on the table]

You know, I was a little surprised to find out Kaido evolved. Though we probably should've expected it with how much he trains... I wonder if that means we'll evolve soon, too?

Thank you very much. [While he handles that that, she arranges the food on the serving platter.]

We might, though I think I still have a while to go myself. But make sure you think about how you'd like to celebrate when it's your turn.

It's alright, I don't think it'll warrant a celebration. I'll be happy with just having evolved.

[He walks in closer and leans back against the table]

And anyway, "lightning" isn't all fun and games either. You wake up with your hair on end all the time, you can shock people accidentally or mess up tech just by touching it, and don't even get me started on how it feels when you have too much electricity and can't discharge.

[He still gives a small indignant "hmph" but... Okay yeah he can't stay mad at you, not today. He rolls his eyes in lieu of "Kaido you're dumb" and then smiles.]

[And then he turns to Mari and raises his eyebrows a little. Doublehug time y/n?]

[Oh yes, she sees those eyebrows and in return gives Atsuro a small smile of agreement.]

That's right, we're happy to do it.

[Just gonna casually step on over to Kaido's side, and 3... 2... 1...]

[Atsuro grins, too... before taking a step towards Kaido as well and SUDDENLY! flinging his arms around him in a hug.

We're both very proud of you, Tadashi~ [She beams at him, giving an extra squeeze as reinforcement. And to make sure he doesn't try to shake them off.]

[He laughs against Kaido's shoulder and pats his back... and then grins]

Also, making up for all the time you tried to be cool and distant from us.

[Well, alright, that seems fair enough. She loosens her grip enough to let him move and shifts more comfortably under his arm.]

[Atsuro does the same, letting Kaido hug him. Giving a small but fond snicker in his ear, too]

[Says he as he hugs you close and rests his chin on Mari's head (she's shortest)]

Indeed, you seem to be enjoying it after all.

[She gives his chin a gentle little nudge and chuckles.]

[He decides to use his right to stay silent...

... except his body doesn't see it that way. He doesn't notice it, at first, but you'll both start to hear a low, rumbling noise, and feel his chest vibrate]

[... Atsuro freezes there at first, not sure what's happening...

And then it clicks when he remembers that weird cough that happened to Kaido earlier and oh. Oh so THAT was why--

Patting Kaido's back in half-disbelief, he's not sure if he wants to laugh or call it cute or troll him about it]

[Mari is equally stunned. She tries not to laugh, but this was really the last thing she expected to happen, and it is just...

it's just so adorable. She can't help but want to tease him about it, just a little.]

Perhaps I should have gotten fish for dinner instead?
